Veggies in red lentil(sabji wali masur ka dal)

Hi folks,today I am sharing a very simple recipe ,which is best eaten on a day when one wishes to have simple home-cooked food.This is a non spicy recipe,yet very flavorful and nutritious .It is  a dal cooked with veggies,so can double up as  a side dish for roti or chapati too. 



Ingredients
Red lentil(masoor dal)- 1 cup
Spices 1 .Dry red chilies
2.salt,as per taste
3.green chilies 3 to 4
4.turmeric powder -1 teaspoon
5. Nigella seeds(kalonji)
6.oil-one tablespoon
The veggies
  • banana stem -half cup
  • pumpkin-half cup
  • broad beans-half cup
  • french beans-half cup
  • radish-half cup
  • carrot-half cup
  • tomatoes-half cup 
  • coriander (green)-half cup
  • bottle gourd-half cup
  • cabbage-half cup
    all cut in one inch pieces.

Take the ingredients

The veggies required


Pressure cook the dal with salt


Add red chilies and nigella seeds .once the chilies turn black add the veggies in the same oil and add salt and turmeric

cover and cook till they turn partially soft

add the cooked dal

add the sugar





In goes the tomatoes and coriander and green chilies

let it simmer for 5 minutes

Serve with rice or chapati
