Pani Puri Masala (The spicy potato filling)

Pani puris,gup chup,golgappe,and many more names,all remind us of the irresistible taste of the mouthwatering Indian street food.The taste varies from place to place but the ingredients in the filling remain esssentially the same .So today I am sharing with you the oft neglected aspect of the pani puri , that is the panipuri masala or the potato filling

Serves 5 to 6 people

Ingredients

Potatoes-5 to 6 (boiled and peeled)
Black chickpeas(kala chana)-half cup(soaked overnight and 
           boiled to 3 to 4 whistles in  pressure cooker with salt)
Coriander leaves(chopped finely)
Onions-1(chopped finely)

Spices

Roasted cumin powder -1 heaped teaspoon 
Homemade dhania powder (coriander powder)-1 heaped teaspoon
Green chili paste-1 heaped teaspoon
Black salt-1 heaped teaspoon
Roasted chili powder-1 heaped teaspoon
Salt -as per taste


                                                         
                                             Mix all the ingredients with the spices.Mash well.


                                                               
                                                Fill in the puris and enjoy



The recipe shared above is of dahi puri,that is the pani puri without the tamarind water.the same preparation can be had with tamarind water for the typically pani puri taste.
